21 & Loving it.

My initial hesitations of hitting 21 were really dumb.

For starters I have a great group of friends, was out and about on Friday and had a blast at the cinema with a certain somebody who won’t be named, mainly because she’d kill me lol.

Speaking of which went to see the Sam Raimi horror ‘Drag me to Hell’ again for a second time and it scared me just as much as before, even though I knew when the scares were coming!!! Only film to do that in the past 10 years or so. That’s not to say that i’m saying things like “OMG Best film Ever!” because i’m not, but as for cinema experiences go then ‘Drag me to Hell’ offered one of the best experiences i’ve EVER had, I’ve not jumped/Laughed/Be Grossed out as much during a trip to the cinema as I had done with those 2 visits this past week. 

She enjoyed it as well which I was kind of surprised (And RELIEVED!!!) about. One thing i’m eager to see is if the scares and jumps transfer over to the living room when the DVD is released, i’m certainly hoping so and if they do I think this will definitly make it into my list of top 25 films.

Anyone else seen it multiple times? Did it scare you as much as the first time. I would link the trailer for those who havn’t seen it, but I feel the trailer is packed with a bit too many spoilers so I won’t ^_^

Also I think it’s safe to say i’ll never look at a goat the same way again..

21 in 2 weeks..

Where has the time gone! I mean seriously it only feels like 2 months since I was leaving College (Actually now nearly 2 Years ago) and i’m fast approaching the big 21.

It’s kind of depressing really, I really don’t think my goal of visiting Japan before i’m 22 is going to happen as I don’t have a job (Like I was hoping to have by now so saving of funds could commence) and with everyday that passes it’s another day less to save.

Plus side though is at least I have insurance on the car now (Woohoo!)  so I can go out and about to places.

End of rant. Probably going to go watch Atashinchi no Danshi, which I love the End theme of  BTW, seriously I can’t stop playing the theme by GIRL NEXT DOOR. It’s infectious lol.

Haha i’m such a Trekkie!

Yeah I have to admit, i’m like UBER excited about seeing Star Trek tomorrow with my friends at my local cinema, ever since it was announced I was raving about it.

And even last week when I went to see 17 Again with another mate (Not so Trekkie she is lol) I went all fangirly (I’m a guy BTW) when the trailer came on just before the film started and I literally sat there clapping like a maniac, I seriously don’t know what has got into me as of recently, and i’ve had a weird last couple of days but what I do know is that Star Trek is going to be absolutly awesome and be a perfect end to the week ^^

The J-Drama that always perks me up..

Densha Otoko!

Ok so it’s probably one of the most well known J-Dramas of the past 10 years and has a massive following, but I don’t think i’ve been as hooked or as emotionally involved in a show as much as I was with this one.

Fist pumping towards the screen when the Yamada managed to accomplish something with Hermes, or just laughing out loud (And thus managing to wake my parents up at 2am) at the incredibly hillarious comedy that was taking place in front of my eyes.

I know Densha has been incredibly hyped, and it did put me off for a while but I don’t think i’ve been as satisfied with a show like I did with this (That includes ‘Lost’ Rachel! she’ll kill me if she ever saw this ^^)

Anyone else a massive fan of the Densha Otoko? It actually made me change my perspective on a few things in life, and whilst that might sound cliche’d and totally lame it something i’m not afraid to say.

And the OP that kicks ass, this song is on my Ipod and probably won’t come off my playlist ^^

(BTW the Zac Efron film ’17 Again’ is definitly reccomended, went to see it yesterday and both me and one of my best mates really enjoyed it. Will probs post a review up later if I can be bothered, doubt folks will read this anyways ^^ lol)

Polysics: Why am I hooked all off a sudden?

It’s so strange, Polysics are a band I could just take or leave. They’ve NEVER been up there with my favourite bands such as Dir en grey or Base Ball Bear for example, but as of the beginning of this week I just can’t get enough of the crazyness that is Polysics!

Kaja Kaja Goo was a song that grated on me intensly really, but now I’m singing along like a mad man to it (Watch out people of Wakefield, you see a crazy guy singing along in Japanese then it’s probably me ^_^)

My favourite would have to be ‘Pretty Good’ which is well…ermmm…Pretty Good!  Such a clich’e to say I know but the energy is immense, it never fails to get me pumped!

TBH I’m not sure where i’m going with this post, It’s just I find it extremly weird that something I found average 6 months ago is all of a sudden something I can’t go a day without :/

Anyone else experienced something similar? I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts if so!

That is all, I’m going to keep this going over the next few months as i’m going to need something to keep me busy ^^

Long time no see…

Wow, I really didn’t keep up with this did I?

Looking back it’s been nearly 5 whole months?!?! It only seems like yesterday that I was starting this up and really getting into it.

I have no excuse though for not keeping up with it, I can’t say that i’ve been busy (People who know me know this to be true lol) but I have decided that in the run up to Christmas that I will try and keep up with this and get into the ‘bloggers spirit’ of things.

It might look a bit bare at the moment and not upto sorts with the other blogs out there, but i’m going to have a tinker with things and see how it turns out.

Who knows, maybe this is the start of something that i’ll really enjoy (^-^)

No Fuji Hiro!

Yes, the whole me going to try out a japanese dish or two failed miserably.

I originally walked past the place and only 3 people were in eating, I thought to myself “Ok it’s not gonna be busy ill go round shopping for a bit longer.” Big mistake. 30 minutes later after locating one of the hoodies I was talking about in the last entry for a friend I went back to Fuji Hiro to see to my surprise the place absolutly packed!

Im a pretty fussy eater, If im trying something new for the first time I tend to lean towards going in when it’s empty so I don’t make a fool of myself when trying new foods, im weird like that (Im guessing most people who read this will be going WTF!) But Yeah that’s just how I am.

Managed to coerce my dad into going though next week, and at least I know the times that it gets busy so I can get in before the rush of people.

(Can anyone reccomend any Japanese dishes suitable for a newbie to Japanese cuisine?)

Other than that Leeds was good, I didn’t take any pictures, there wasn’t really anything to take pictures of. Alot of Leeds centre is being re-done and alot of construction workers were working (Not really photo material) didn’t buy much 2 DVD’s one of which is going back (Happiness of the Katakuris, loved the film, but it sticks on 13 minutes 8 Seconds and skips back to the first chapter! Anyone else had this problem, was kind of wondering if it was a general fault or if my DVD player might be on the blink)

So Yeah, warm day, not too warm just nice.

Leeds tomorrow!

So Yeah im setting off for Leeds tomorrow (When I say setting off it makes me sound like im off on a long journey, when in reality it’s a 25 minute train ride away lol) just for a browse round some of the shops that I can lose myself in (Travelling Man, City Cyber Anime), but then again I suppose to the ones who know me that won’t be much of a surprise.  Im also majorly in need to find a ‘I <3 Leeds’ Jumper/Hoodie for a friend, she wants one pretty badly but hasn’t a clue where to get one so im off scouting around for one for her, this is probs a long shot but does anyone familiar with Leeds have any idea where to get one from, I have a basic idea but I don’t wanna be going round and round in circles all day lol

What im really going for is to really pass time, im so bored in the weekdays ATM (Not having a job can do that to ya) so to just get out of the house is going to be awesome, To be honest the train ride there is one of the best things about the actual day, it might seem weird but once im sat down and put in the earphones and switch on some good J-Rock I can just lose myself, staring out of the window at the passing trees (and Chavs if it’s a bad day). That may seem weird but to me it’s soothing.

Hoping to get some pics tomorrow of various things, Leeds is always full of street life with various performers and whatnot, so im hoping to make this blog a little less 2 dimensional (Yes I am going to keep up with this from now on)  though knowing my luck there won’t be any there tomorrow at all.

Also going to see if the Japanese Restaurant ‘Fuji Hiro’ is open, might just fancy checking that place out for lunch, if not ill be checking the prices for an evening meal (Anyone experienced the food from ‘Fuji Hiro’?).

So I hope I didn’t go on about absolutly nothing, I know I can seem boring to a lot of people (lol I’ve been told it on many occasions) and I hope this is to your liking.

Start of something new…

Well I thought i’d start this whole blogging thing, i’ve read many blogs in my lifetime, alot of them are absolutly fantastic and I can lose myself for hours in them. I’m such an addict on everything Japanese (Some people think that’s weird *coughRachelcough*  (I don’t think she’ll ever read this so all is well lol)

My names Oliver, live in West Yorks, it’s a boring place though I spose Leeds kind of makes up for it, TBH that’s all I really wanna say about where I live as it is that bad :/

So Yeah ill try to update this everyday, try to get into a routine and all that with it, if im stuck for ideas I’ll take inspiration from other sites and kind of discuss them myself.

So there we go, I don’t think this was a bad introduction post lol
